Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) suffered a break to his left collarbone during an accident whilst riding a 100cc slide bike yesterday (Wednesday) with surgery happening this morning (Thursday) to fix the injury ahead of the British GP.

Rins’ surgery was carried out by Doctor Xavier Mir at the Hospital Universitario Quirón Dexeus in Barcelona with a titanium plate put in place to stabilize the fracture.

Mir said: “We operated on Alex to fix a break to the left collarbone. We reduced the fracture and have inserted a titanium plate and six screws. After that, we did some control x-rays that showed us the fracture was reduced. After that we closed the skin and muscle around the collarbone. The idea is that it remains in place until tomorrow with analgesic treatment, to then treat it again on Monday and begin with rehabilitation.”

Rins is expected to take part in the upcoming Octo British Grand Prix at Silverstone on September 4.
