Marquez: I’ve not signed yet but this will be my bike next year!

Marc Marquez has given the strongest indication yet that he’s about to put pen to paper and commit to another couple of seasons on the factory Honda.

Speaking at the pre-Catalan MotoGP meeting yesterday the former double MotoGP world champion has come under scrutiny because he’s the last big name from ‘The Aliens’ to sign a contract.

Marquez has already said that he wanted Dani Pedrosa to stay with Repsol Honda because he felt that Pedrosa makes the ideal team-mate to sit alongside him in a factory squad.

He said: ” I have not signed yet, but this will be my bike next year.

“A contract must be done well. This year there has been a lot of exceptions because everything has been predicted. First there was the renewal of Valentino and then Jorge, but I do not like to rush. Now Jorge and Maverick, for example, have to live for a year with a team who they already know will not be theirs in 2017.”
