The countdown to the great Ducati get-together World Ducati Week 2016 has begun. For weeks now preparations have been under way for an event that will draw thousands of Ducatisti from all over the globe, seeing them arrive at the Adriatic Riviera and the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit which, from 1to 3 July, which will host the ninth edition of World Ducati Week.
In 2014 some 65,000 people attended the 3-day WDW event. We expect at least as many to attend in 2016, all eager to celebrate what is a major anniversary for Ducati, the 90th since its founding (1926-2016): World Ducati Week is right where the celebrations will reach their peak! WDW2016 is going to be action-packed: participants will get the chance to rub shoulders with famous past and present Ducati riders, take part in sports events, parties, exhibitions, competitions and immerse themselves in all things Ducati. They’ll also be able to experience the colourful Ducati Scrambler world which, with its “Land of Joy”, will be offering action, music and great fun.
Of course, an event held at one of the world’s most prestigious race tracks – the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit – just has to offer participants the chance to enjoy the thrill of a track session on their very own Ducati. Track sessions at the Misano circuit can only be booked by 3-day pass holders (passes can be purchased from 23 May).
All 3-Day Pass holders will receive an e-mail containing a code that gives access to the booking platform where they can choose the track session. The number of sessions is limited and the order within each session will follow the booking order.
To reserve your track session you’ll need, in addition to the 3-day pass, to be 18 years old, to have a valid license and to arrive at the paddocks with appropriate track gear (full leather suit or zip-joined leather jacket and trousers, helmet, boots, gloves and back protector) one hour before your session starts. And, of course, you’ll need to be sat astride your own Ducati. Official Ducati outriders will provide participants with useful support and experience.
As in past editions, Pirelli will be an Official Partner at WDW2016. This world-famous Italian tyre manufacturer is providing all those taking part in the track sessions with a tyre change service. They’re also offering the exclusive Pirelli Academy moto tyre insight course as part of Ducati University, allowing WDW2016 participants to boost their tyre knowledge and receive valuable advice on getting the best out of road and track tyres.
For all those eager to experience some four-wheel adrenalin too, visitors will have the chance to book an awesome lap of the track in an Audi or Automobili Lamborghini super-car, alongside a professional driver. All information on these events and others in the WDW programme is available at wdw.ducati.com.
Info on WDW2016 is also available via the Ducati social network channels: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
