Vulcanet have done the maths and found that their waterless motorcycle cleaning wipes are on track to save 1 billion litres of water in 2023.

“With the rising cost of living crisis still very much at play, we’re all looking for ways to save money and reduce bills” the company said in a press release. “Motorcycle enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that cleaning your two-wheeled machine with Vulcanet won’t add to your water bill…”

Going off 2022 numbers, Vulcanet calculated that use of their wipes for cleaning motorcycles and cars saved 750 million litres of water. They are on track to save 1 billion litres of water by the end of 2023.

Vulcanet wipes eliminate the need for water when cleaning your motorcycle as the wipes liquefy dirt. The wipes have a textile weave with a spiral shape and bevelled edges similar to a honeycomb which works to remove stubborn dirt particles. Using the specially designed microfibre cloth, the cleaning solution hardens the cleaning solution to protect the paintwork/material underneath, providing a polished finish.

And here’s the maths:

One tube of Vulcanet has 80 wipes. 2 wipes are needed to clean one motorcycle, meaning you get 40 washes out of one tube. On the other hand, one motorbike wash without using Vulcanet uses around 100 litres of water. 40 Vulcanet washes would b the equivalent of 4,000 litres of water when washed without Vulcanet.

One car wash uses up to 300 litres of water or four Vulcanet wipes. One tube of Vulcanet therefore provides up to 20 washes, which is the equivalent of 6,000 litres of water.

Vulcanet sold around 145,000,000 boxes last year and are on track to sell between 25% and 40% more in 2023, saving between 900 million and 1 billion litres of water.

Vulcanet Cleaning Wipes have an RRP of £36.99.
