It’s the first time that the nine-times world champion has met his electronic counterpart – and it’s all a bit weird.
This video has been released by Yamaha and shows the man who’s staying with Yamaha in MotoGP for the 2017 and 2018 seasons having a bit of a poke and prod around the robot project.

Motobot was first shown at the end of last year by Yamaha as an ongoing project to make a system that could learn from and replicate a rider’s actions on a bike.
Yamaha has said that it expects Motobot to soon be able to lap a track at Rossi’s pace. Oooohh….
