This is the Suter MMX 500 – the replica GP500 two-stroke bike that anyone can buy.
Suter says that it was spurred on to make the motorcycle for classic racing events after the success of the recent World GP Bike Legends event at Jerez in June.
Details are coming through, but here’s what we’ve got from Suter directly so far:

“Engineered applying the latest design and manufacturing technologies, using high-quality precision parts, we put all our passion into it. Double counter rotating crankshafts and an electronic fuel injection iconify our effort in building it.
“We offer 195hp @ 13’000 rpm with an astonishing weight of 127kg for 120‘000 Swiss Francs. Maximum speeds in excess of 310 km/h are then in the hands of the pilot …
Engineering the beast
“The Suter 500 project is very ambitious and took an enormous
amount of development. To combine almost lost know-how
in two-stroke technology with the latest high-tech motorcycle
developments demanded a sophisticated approach.
“Our engineers and technicians did everything imaginable to make
this motorcycle meet the expectations we also had ourselves.

entirely on Swiss quality and perfect craftsmanship.

Suter does promise that the new bike will have ‘the tarmac-shredding soul of the original machines that inspire it’.
It’s not the first time that Suter has made a 500cc two-stroke V4 for people to buy though, in 2009 the firm released it’s Suter SRT500 (pictured below). That bike made more than 200bhp and was based around the Ilmor 2007 MotoGP bike. The SRT500 cost around £75,000.
