Our Rhys Lawrey, aka 2mororider, is almost at the end of his world-record-smshing global ride after 15 months of riding on his Triumph Tiger 800.
Riding more than 56,000 miles through 70 countries, he has survived a collision with a car in China, food poisoning in Kazakhstan, extreme bureaucracy and terrible roads in Turkmenistan and even a night sleeping on his bike in Mexico.
He arrived in Dublin yesterday and rode to Belfast where he was met by a welcoming party of fellow bikers at City Hall including TT superstar Phillip McCallen.
“It’s been a great visit to Dublin and Belfast – it feels like the last leg of the trip has really begun now and to meet such great people as I have here is a memory I’ll cherish for a long time. Now it’s focusing on the last steps of what has been an incredible trip,” he said.
