They have access to over 800 recovery agents’ locations and promise to recover motorcyclists from anywhere in the UK, 24/7, 365 days a year.
A free smartphone app can be used to put the rider in touch with the recovery team at the touch of a button and there’s access to a legal support helpline too.
RecoverMe is part of Auto Rescue Logistics, which has been providing recovery services to professional drivers since 2002. The firm has long-standing contracts with many household names in the fleet and insurance markets.
Robin Reames, a founding director at RecoverMe, said: “Having certain elements such as ‘home start’ within a policy as standard, was vitally important for us. So that’s what we’ve done. We also believe that these so called ‘extras’ shouldn’t carry an additional cost as there is really no justification to hike the price.
“Motorists are being exploited by the well-known breakdown providers. We also understand that motorbike owners are very particular about their machines and want confidence that professionals undertake recovery. That is exactly where ARL’s expertise lies.”
“We’ve launched the motorbike recovery product with simple principles. It has to work and be practical, while being a value proposition. Starting at £44.99 with many ‘extras’ included, means that we’re launching a market-leading product.”
For example, many standard policies from other providers attract you with low prices but do not cover certain motorbikes or any vehicles that break down or fail to start within ¼ mile of home. Adding this with another provider can cost a further £60 or more – with RecoverMe, this is included as standard with the £44.99 policy. Most policies limit you to just 10 miles recovery. If you want recovery from anywhere in the UK to your home it will cost £114.99 with the AA or £112.99 with the RAC. Even Bennetts, the largest bike insurer will charge £64.99. But with RecoverMe, recovery to your home comes as standard, at no extra cost.
Reames continued: “Our aim is to make the industry more transparent and challenge the inflated prices being levied on motorists by organisations that seek to represent their interests. We want to bring prices down to reasonable level. £44.99 for a year’s cover is a fair price: there is no need to exclude services, lower standards or cut corners at that price point. Fleets and professional motorists have relied on us for more than ten years, and with the largest network of service locations in the UK, now everyone on our roads has this option.”
