Review by Zoe Young:
When I am riding, I want to focus on just that. Feeling gear cut into me, worrying about a muffin top or fears of channelling the Michelin man are unwanted thoughts and distractions. I would love to comfortably wear a full leather suit and feel front page magazine worthy, but the reality is somewhat less spectacular if not still admirable.

Instead, I wear a trusty denim. Because what is more reassuring than a well-worn, fitted pair of stretchy jeans? My chosen casual look is a pair of Weise Tundra Jeans in Blue Indigo. They also come in black.
Priced at £100 they are reasonable within the world of motorcycle gear. Kevlar with armoured knees and hips, I can feel confident riding in them and continue daydreaming about getting a knee down.
I bought them for the stretch. I hold my hand high in admittance of bloating. Most ladies I know suffer from some sort of bloating for one medical reason or another. Having a pair of riding trousers that accommodated any flair ups was a priority for me.
These were purchased at Moto Corsa, Gillingham – which for a small shop have a comparatively large range of female gear and very friendly staff who can order sizes in for you, even more pertinent if you order one of their delicious breakfasts!
The jeans come up, surprisingly in the female world, a bit big! Other motorcycle gear I have comes up several sizes larger than high street fashion brands I wear, but the Weise jean is my usual size and I need a belt. At 5ft 5 I would not say I was short, but the trouser hem is at least 3 inches longer than my leg, but I tuck them into my boots and am none the wiser.
They are a flattering fitted bootcut rather than the more common skinny jean variant and have a high waist; there is no skin on show when you get off to a racing start! They are not waterproof so not practical for an all-weather rider (I salute you), but I just carry a pair of waterproof over trousers with me and they do the job if I am caught in rain! Another approved elasticated waist…
Finally, they look awesome. Because after all you want your kit to work, feel comfortable and make you feel like the biker babe you deserve to be.
