Brembo reveals new G Sessenta brake caliper

Brembo presented its new brake caliper concept to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this body.

This caliper presents several rather intriguing innovations… illumination by LEDs, yeah… but also geolocation and the possibility of locking the plates to secure the vehicle!

Brembo has had a very dynamic news lately. The Italian giant has, in fact, bought the Spanish manufacturer J-Juan and this operation will consolidate Brembo’s position on the market. Brembo also has the thickest catalog in terms of calipers to fit the entire production, although Asian competitors are resisting in the lower segments.

To celebrate 60 years of the brake caliper, Brembo evokes a model from 1972 … which is not yet 60 years, unless something escapes us. In short, this concept of the brake caliper of the future bears the name of Concept New G Sessanta. It is distinguished by a design, it should be noted, close to the evoked model of 1972, which had opposed pistons.

In addition, this new generation caliper is equipped with LEDs to enhance its style. The color can be changed according to the wishes of the pilot via an application.

An innovation, but also almost a gadget for tuning enthusiasts on Friday evenings in Dunkirk… More interestingly, the caliper includes a GPS sensor to participate in the geolocation of the vehicle. Also, the application can control the locking of the brake pads in order to immobilize the vehicle, in a manner of parking brake. Not bad at all, right? Of course, failing to secure your motorcycle to a fixed point, the risk of kidnapping in a van remains possible.

This immobilisation by the braking system turns out to be interesting despite everything, it is a plus, especially for heavy motorcycles.
