New leathers and textiles from Wolf

Wolf has just launched its new collection for 2016.The kit is designed and developed in the UK, and the company says that the 2016 range uses only the very best materials combined with cutting edge technology.

The new kit will be in stores early April, but in the meantime, here’s some details from the Wolf guys themselves about what’s to come:

Racing–K: 1pc Leather Suit

Utilising the perfect balance of Kangaroo and Full Grain Cowhide the Racing-K takes comfort and ergonomics to new levels. Wolf was one of the pioneers of using Kangaroo hide in one-piece suits, introducing it into the range in 2004. Kangaroo is not only light but very supple, giving the Racing-K an off the peg fit unlike any standard suit. The Racing-K introduces a new feature; the Wolf Natural Movement System. The use of stretch panels placed behind the arm, the full length of the torso and the lower back enables a free range of natural movement on the bike. When combined with the Kangaroo panels this suit has a feeling of a fully made to measure item. It also enables the use of a back and chest protector without compromising the comfort levels.  Enhancing the safety of the suit, we’ve used Oxley™ bonded nylon thread, triple and double stitching in all the seams, D3O® Level 2 CE approved armour to the shoulders elbows and knees, full length Schoeler Keprotec™ stretch panels and the Wolf Energy Deflection System. The Wolf Energy Deflection System uses TPU external armour at the main impact points of the shoulder and knee. These low co-efficient of friction parts enable the rider to slide on first contact with the ground, drastically lowering the risk of going into a tumble, the shoulder piece also dramatically reduces the risk of breaking the collar bone by deflecting the energy into a slide rather than high energy deceleration which transfers too much energy to the body.

Nimbus-K Leather Jacket / Jean

A master of the track and road; the Nimbus-K is packed with features that truly set a new standard. Available separately, the jacket can be worn on its own (ideally paired with the Tec-ST Aramid jeans) for an exceptional road experience or can be matched with the Nimbus-K jean to transform into a track ready two-piece suit. The joining zip is one length so enables you to connect different sized jackets and jeans together you are not restricted to having the same size jacket and jean. Both the jacket and jean are constructed from a mixture of Kangaroo and Full Grain Cowhide for enhanced comfort and ergonomics. Euro Leather Jacket

We revisited the Wolf back catalogue when we designed the Euro jacket, the 60’s and 70’s café racer look demands a twin zip system so that’s where we started! (Only the addition of a white silk scarf could make the Euro look any more authentic) We’ve used thick milled leather to build the Euro, this gives the jacket the feeling of one that’s been in your collection for years. Metal adjustment buckles and zips further compliment the look of the Euro. On the inside you’ll find a removable soft-touch brushed cotton removable lining and fitted as standard D3O®Level 2 CE approved armour throughout.

Tec-Tour Outlast Textile Jacket and Jean

Without a doubt the Tec-Tour jacket and jean is the highest specification textile combination we have ever made. Wolf debuted Outlast™ technology in 2009 and have been using it ever since. This however is the first time we have incorporated the Outlast™ lining onto a quilted backing, this helps greatly on those really cold days. To negate the possibility of over-heating on hot days the Tec-Tour has large waterproof zipped air-vents and the ability to remove the XTR™ waterproof membrane. This really does make the Tec-Tour the ultimate touring jacket and jean combination. GT-S Outlast Textile Jacket

Designed with the modern sports-touring rider in mind, the GT-S has a mid-length cut giving a flexible fit, long enough to beat the elements but short enough to be comfortable on a bike with a more aggressive riding position. Like its predecessors the GT-S has an Outlast™ lining, now upgraded to a removable quilted lining. The GT-S is constructed from Teflon™ coated Cordura™ and has a highly breathable XTR™ waterproof membrane. We have used the same Wolf Energy Deflection System shoulder protectors as found on our leather garments and combined these with a full complement of D3O® Level 2 CE approved armour including a D3O® Level 2 CE approved back protector as standard. Depending on the style of riding you do, the GT-S can be paired with either the touring fit Tec-Tour jean or the sportier cut Freestyle jean.

Freestyle II Textile Jacket and Jean

A favorite rebooted; the Freestyle II has taken the DNA of the original Freestyle sports jacket and brought it bang up to date! The cut of the Freestyle II is squarely aimed at the sports rider and the level of specification of this striking jacket is second to none. Its sports credentials are further enhanced with the inclusion of the Wolf Energy Deflection System external protectors to the shoulder. To cope with the plethora of riding conditions riders face the Freestyle II is fitted with an XTR™ ultra high performance waterproof and breathable membrane along with a removable quilted thermal lining. TEC – ST Aramid jean

During the product development process for a new Aramid riding jean we found that a traditional jean was just not comfortable enough or allowed enough movement especially on café racer and sports machines, so we went back to the drawing board. The first part of the jean we looked at changing was the crutch area, we’ve added in stretch Cordura™ to enable the rider to be comfortable when astride the bike and to allow the rider to easily move around. We also redesigned the knee and the rear area of the jean adding stretch panels to both locations. We also raised the waist height at the rear of the jean, an effort rewarded by a massive reduction in the draught the rider feels, especially in a sporty riding position! The TEC-ST Aramid jean features genuine DuPont™ Kevlar™ in the seat and leg areas and is accompanied by D3O® Level 2 CE approved armour in an adjustable knee pocket. Hip pockets are also included to allow the jean to be upgraded with optional hip armour.
