This Spada Curve WP jacket is ideal for winter use. It has hi-vis panels and reflective strips, which are great features in a winter jacket. I ride to and from work every day, in winter usually in the dark. As well as dark, it has been really foggy while I’ve been testing the jacket, so hopefully these features have made me a bit more visible to other road users.

Spada claims that the jacket is 100% waterproof and breathable. I have to take their word for it as I haven’t endured more than 20 minutes of fairly light rain with this jacket on – which it dealt with fine.
The jacket has two front zipped pockets on the outside. Strangely, there are no inside pockets in the jacket itself, the two wallet pockets are in the thermal liner (one zipped, one with Velcro). So if you remove the thermal liner, you lose the inside pockets too. Not much of an issue in winter when you need the liner for warmth anyway, but on warmer days when you take the liner out, you have to make do with the outside pockets.
The cuffs have zips to help fit gloves nicely and Velcro adjusters to stop any draughts. There are also two sleeve adjustments on each arm to get a nice snug feel and stop the sleeves flapping in the wind if your arms (like mine) don’t quite fill the sleeves.
The Curve WP is made of abrasion-resistant polyester and has five-piece CE-approved armour (elbows, shoulders and back), so it should give adequate protection in case of a spill. As well as being protective, the jacket is also comfortable to wear on the bike and it doesn’t restrict movement.
Ventilation is there should you need it, but I have kept those zips firmly fastened. It really hasn’t been that warm.
The jacket comes in four different colour schemes and in sizes M to 3XL.
Overall, this is a great jacket considering the price. It has all the features that you’d expect, from waterproofing to ventilation, and it feels very comfortable.
