Knox Dry Inside base layers Clara ladies long sleeve review | £54.99 | www.planet-knox.com / 01900 825825 | Reviewed by Carli Ann Smith
Knox has launched a new range of base layers, using MerinoPerform Advantage – woven in Australia from fine Merino wool; it is combined with cooling and fast-drying synthetic fibres in the fabric structure. Sounds very swish but essentially, it works to keep vapour and sweat away from the body.

Having worn the base layer in a variety of weathers – cold and hot – my body temperature felt regulated and constant. When I got particularly hot, I’d expected to get patches under my arms as I would with other tops; however I didn’t and still felt fresh at the end of the day.
To the touch the material is soft, thin and feels so nice when it’s on and it doesn’t bunch up when you have other layers on top. Because of a combination of the fit and the fabric, it doesn’t cling like a lot of base layers and the two splits at the side that mean it can be tied up for styling.
As with all the other items in the Knox Studio Collection, the base layers have been designed so that they can be worn off the bike as well as on. I would wear this top as a normal polo neck and it doesn’t look out of place with a pair of jeans out and about.
The branding is subtle with a small ‘K’ on the back of the neck, Knox on the wrist of the left arm and a ‘K’ sewn on patch on the bottom left of the hem.
For comfort, there are no seams on the tops of the arms which is nice and the seams which it does have are soft and don’t dig in.
I’ve washed it a few times on a normal wash and have been amazed at how quickly it dries – which makes it a good companion if you’re on a trip.
Made in the UK, there are seven designs of shirts, shorts and long trousers for men and women with prices starting from £29.99.
