After last winter with the standard screen on my winter hack – a BMW F650ST –  I was desperate to fit a taller version to keep the cold and wind at bay.

The GIVI screen is a full 8.5” taller, and is extremely easy to fit as it’s made specifically for the bike so simply replaces the existing one. It took just five minutes to take out the four screws holding the old screen in place and to re-fit using the same screws.

Being my winter bike I’ve got some hand guards fitted to the F650 too – because of this I had to reduce the steering lock to stop the guards fouling the screen. A small price to pay for the extra protection provided.

With the new screen, the wind hits the top of my helmet above the visor, whereas the original screen had the wind blowing under my chin piece, and on colder days this was enough to make my eyes water!

Complete with heated grips, hand guards and now my lovely GIVI screen, winter rides are much more comfortable.
