Knox is making an impact on the catwalk after a collaboration with luxury men’s fashion designer Marlon Gobel saw their award-winning Handroid gloves taking centre stage in his Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
You might wonder why this matters, but there’s something gaudily appealing about the superb Knox Handroids, reviewed here, in gold. We’re pretty sure some of the boys on our sister magazine, Fast Bikes, would like a pair. Knox tells us there are currently no plans to make the mitts available to the public, but maybe we could change that if enough of us shout loudly! Comment in the box below… would you wear gold – or silver – gloves?!

Presented during New York Fashion Week, Gobel’s “TRANSHUMANISM” collection explores the increasing fusion of fashion and wearable technology. He incorporated Knox Handroids to represent advanced computer/glove hybrids that communicate with electronic head gear.
The Knox team worked closely with Gobel – who has previously collaborated with iconic fashion brands such as Christian Louboutin, Swarovski, PEPSICO and GANT – in the months preceding the show, and produced special silver and gold versions of the Handroid to match the pieces in his new collection.
Managing director of Knox, Geoff Travell commented: “When the Marlon Gobel menswear brand first approached us we jumped at the opportunity to collaborate. It’s been an exciting and different project for us and we’re looking forward to hearing the reaction from the fashion world and working together again.”
Marlon Gobel added: “While I was researching my concept of “TRANSHUMANISM” for the MARLON GOBEL S/S 2015 show I was looking for a modern, well-established sports body-armour brand to collaborate with for this season. And with the history of specializing in solid design and amazingly manufactured Hand Armour; Knox fit perfectly. Our collaboration has been fantastic, and we are also looking forward to the inevitable combining of Knox’s highly respected manufacturing and body armour technology with the Marlon Gobel design aesthetic in future projects.”
