1. Flat battery
2. Mechanical engine failure
3. Damaged / flat tyre
4. Alternator fault
5. Carburettor / fuel injection fault
6. Road traffic accident
7. Starter motor fault
8. Engine management (ECU) fault
9. Ignition coil failure
10. Flooded engine (wet plugs)
11. Wiring loom / ignition fault
12. Drive chain

So now you know! There are a few unavoidable ones there, and we hope number six is never an issue for you, but a flat battery, flooded engine and a worn chain are all avoidable, so keep on top of your maintenance and avoid making that call!
