We had fun catching up with 53-year-old Caroline, a former dental nurse turned labourer from Worcestershire who has been riding for 25 years. Let’s see what she told us about herself and her biking life:
What bikes have you got?

“Yamaha TDM850 and a Kawasaki ZX6R, but would love to try some newer bikes when I get my pension! The Ninja was a present from my husband. When I met him 21 years ago on a blind date, on my motorbike, (GSX600) he loved it having never been on a bike before! I taught him to ride and he did his test and brought me the ninja and he had the GSX! He gave up bikes when we had our children 17 years ago, he was never into bikes but is fully supportive of me and bikes.”
What got you into motorcycling?
“My step dad had motorbikes when I was growing up, then my boyfriend, I was always around them, I decided to do my bike test by direct access when my “boyfriend” didn’t want me riding them and thought all women should be on the back! Did my CBT on the Monday and my test on the Friday and passed first time. He wasn’t happy was even worse when I went and brought my first bike a GPz500..”
Where do you like to ride, and who with?
“I love to ride in Wales, the roads are amazing and the views are breathtaking but as long as I’m on two wheels I will ride anywhere. I recently met two ladies through Curvy Riders MCC who I like to ride with. My other friend who I rode with injured her back so I joined Curvies to meet other people. We have travelled hundreds of miles this year. I also completed the National Road Rally for the past two years, achieving gold awards. I did this years with a chap I had never met because my friend couldn’t compete and he’s hooked now. It’s so much fun planning and looking for more interesting roads rather than travelling from one place to another directly. I passed my advanced test with IAM last year”
What does your two-wheel bucket list look like?
“I would love to learn to wheelie! I would love to explore Scotland or even roads abroad. The TT is on my bucket list. I would really like a go green laning, try a track day – in fact anything on a motorbike! Doing my advanced test has opened up my love of motorbikes even more, my rides were occasional long trips, now if I pop out on my bike it’s minimum of 100 miles.”
What else do you get up to, outside of motorcycling?
“I am an artist and until recently was a horse owner. I lost him to colic after owning him for 20 years! I’ve had horses all my adult life but now it’s filled with just bikes. I’m also into Mad Max and post apocalyptic scene with my friend’s band V2A who just held their first festival, I’m 53 growing old disgracefully.. I’m a married mum of two teenage children and just became a builders labourer working with my husband after losing my job as a dental practice manager during Covid, I had been in dentistry since I was 18 so a bit of a change in life.”
Thank you Caroline!
