We caught up with Ward administrator Clare Hodgson, 44, from near Wrexham, who rides a 2010 Triumph Street Triple.
What got you into motorcycling?
“I Started riding at 16 when my parents put me through the CBT to give me more independence” Clare told MoreBikes. “I was riding a Honda MT5! I Passed my test in 1994 at 17 and rode a Honda 250N Superdream Deluxe! That’s the important bit. Then I had a Suzuki XS250. Later, I sold the motorcycle and got a car. 20 years later with the kids grown up I started riding hubbies VFR 750. I swapped that for a Yamaha 650 Dragstar and a year or so later bought the Street Triple. To Gain confidence I joined Curvy Riders MCC and last year became regional rep for the Chester and Merseyside region”.

Where do you like to ride, and who with?
“I live in Wales with some amazing roads on my doorstep. I ride with my Hubby, or my best friend, who is also female and also belongs to the Curvy Riders MCC.”
Clare’s two-wheel bucket list
“Route 66 would be amazing and I’m hoping to do that for our 25th wedding anniversary. I would love to go back to Switzerland. We rode over for my cousins wedding a few years ago, but I wasn’t hugely confident and we had deadlines to keep. Unfinished business!”
Outside of motorcycles Clare enjoys horse riding, her dogs, baking and reading! Thank you Clare, we hope to see more of you in the Ladies Who Ride motorcycles area of MoreBikes!
