The Indian company’s Himalayan – 410cc, single-cylinder with 25hp and 32Nm – has been a sales success for the resurgent firm and there’s much speculation that the names will be attached to a 250cc single (this is likely to be the Sherpa) and a two-cylinder 650cc with 48hp and 52Nm (the Hunter).
According to Indian motorcycle outlets, a two-cylinder Enfield enduro has been seen in tests and Royal Enfield boss Siddhartha Lal has spoken openly about his desire to make a 650 twin along the lines of the current Himalayan.
Add to that the story we brought you back in November about an electric Enfield to appear soon and suddenly there’s a lot going on with RE. The Indian Auto Expo Show kicks off in early February (7 -12) in Delhi so expect to see something along these lines from that event.
