In something of a shift in off-road competition in the USA, news arrives that the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has given the go-ahead for an entirely electric racing class in 2020.
The KTM Junior Supercross series for 7 – 8 year olds will be a purely electric championship without any conventionally-powered motorcycles allowed.
Although it’s not yet confirmed, it’s expected that the young riders will end up competing on the new electric motorcross bike from KTM, the SX-E5 which is claimed to have performance close to the petrol-powered motorcycle equivalent in the Austrian company’s range.
