Michael Dunlop has suffered injuries after high-siding in the Senior race of the Southern 100 out on the Isle of Man.
The three-time solo Championship winner came off his Tyco BMW on the second lap of the race – high-siding at Castletown corner. He was holding onto second place at the time, sitting behind Dean Harrison (who went on to win).
Dunlop was taken to Noble’s Hospital following the crash – and in a statement from the organisers last night, he was described as ‘comfortable’. Race organisers also confirmed that the 30-year-old racer has sustained ‘fractures’ – and although the specifics haven’t been confirmed, it is rumoured that he’s broken his pelvis.

As a result of the crash, he didn’t compete in the Solo Championship race later in the day – and it also raises questions about his future participation at the Ulster Grand Prix next month. It’s been a tough season for Dunlop. He was injured in a crash at the Donegal International Rally in June. He suffered a wrist injury in after crashing while pre-season testing, prior to the North West 200 in May.
