The all-new Yamaha Ténéré 700 is one of the most hotly anticipated bikes of 2018 – and we’ve just been sent some shots of the prototype in action in the centre of Milan.
The new Ténéré 700 is based around Yamaha’s infallible MT-07 – and seeks to recall the spirit of the original Dakar-inspired machine, with its twin-cylinder in-line engine and lightweight, slim line design. And from what we can see, it really looks the part.
Admittedly, it’s a bit of a surprise that the Yamaha has been bombing around the centre of Milan – as it’s hardly the most discreet of testing grounds. But it shows that the new Japanese adventure bike is being thoroughly tested across all types of terrains – both on-road and off-road.
At this stage, with the camouflaged black bodywork – it’s difficult to know for sure what the final design’s going to be, but looking at the prototype, we’re guessing that it’ll come equipped with a 21-inch front wheel, long-travel suspension both front and rear and a hi-tech instrument panel. All we know is we can’t wait to see the finished machine. What do you think?
