Arai pays homage to the Honda NSR250R, celebrating the iconic red and white machine’s 30th anniversary.
It is not the first time that Arai has launched a helmet in tribute of the Honda NSR250. Last year it launched a limited run of lids commemorating the NSR250 MC28 of 1993 – but in preparation for the MC18 of 1988’s 30th anniversary next year, here’s its latest.
For the uninitiated, the Honda NSR250 was a race-ready road bike with a license plate and headlights. It was powered by a two-stroke engine and two cylinders, pumped out 45bhp at 9,500rpm and weighed in at 145kg. It came with front and rear disc brakes, electronic injection, a six speed gearbox and an aluminium chassis… and Arai has taken its top spec helmet, the RX-7X, and created a design which pays tribute to the 1988 NSR – and there’s a cool inscription on the back, so you can identify it as a NSR KV3.
