Grand Prix legend Ron Haslam (all round legend, actually, and one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet in the racing universe) has had a pretty big tumble which has beaten him up pretty badly.

Ron, 60 (pictured below), tipped off at Donington a couple of days ago and has been left with a clutch of injuries including a busted collarbone (NINE screws and a big old plate), broken ribs and a punctured lung.

His son Leon says that his dad is doing OK and is on the mend but won’t be able to ride a bike for a while yet. Ron was treated by Dr Forward (top trauma surgeon) at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham – as the picture above from Leon’s account shows, the old lad’s got some metal going on in the shoulder but it looks like a proper neat job, at least.
