High up in the mountains of Catalunya proved the perfect place for Derbi to launch two new learner legal bikes. Two very different machines sharing a common engine but their styling was worlds apart.

Feeling Adventurous?
The Terra Adventure looks and is a fantastic learner legal machine that copes as well off-road as it does on the black stuff. A couple of hard, sweaty hours in the saddle around the dusty mountain trails gave us a chance to put the bikes through their paces and I must say they handled the terrain admirably.
The Adventure costs just £1 under three grand and for that you get a 125cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine with decent suspension, great brakes (no fade even after hours of abuse) nice styling and a fairly nippy engine.
Off roading is one of those bike riding skills I’ve not really had the time to master but it’s fun learning and the Derbi is so forgiving it lets amateur dirt riders like me have some fun without messing things up. During the day a couple of bikes hit the floor and neither suffered any damage, either mechanical or cosmetic, which was proof enough to me that they’re built to last.
Like most bikes of this type there’s every chance that most Terra Adventures won’t ever get their knobbly tyres dirty but if ever you do want to give it a whirl you can be safe in the knowledge that the Derbi is more than capable, are you?
