Triumph Motorcycles has announced the latest enhancements and additions to its Tiger 1200 family, taking the range to a new level of sophistication. These updates include even more refined engine performance, enhanced comfort and ergonomics, improved cornering capability and lower seat height thanks to Active Preload Reduction, as well as striking new colour options.

Triumph’s latest 1160cc triple engine offers a heightened riding experience with improved low-speed control while maintaining its T-plane crank’s distinctive and exhilarating triple personality.

The Triumph engineering team has made modifications to the crankshaft, alternator rotor, and balancer in order to enhance the engine’s inertia. These changes and adjustments to the engine calibration have resulted in a more precise and seamless low-rev torque delivery. Customers will notice an improved smoothness when accelerating or decelerating at low speeds. Additionally, a revamped clutch design ensures a smoother transition for riders when shifting into first gear.

Also, Triumph has elevated the overall comfort of the Tiger 1200 for riders seeking extended touring capabilities. The engine has been refined and rendered even smoother through an updated balancing approach, enhancing rider comfort across all crucial contact areas.

The Explorer models’ widely loved dampened handlebars and risers have also been implemented in the GT Pro and Rally Pro. This upgrade provides a more comfortable ride while also improving mirror visibility.

The rider seat has been updated with a flatter profile, offering more room and reducing fatigue on extended rides. Additionally, the accessory low seat lowers the position by 20mm, achieving a minimum height of 830mm on the GT Pro and 855mm on the Rally Pro while also providing enhanced comfort. Furthermore, a longer clutch lever has been incorporated to allow for more finger space and added comfort during longer trips.

Additionally, Triumph has raised the footpeg positions and brought them closer to the bike on the Tiger 1200 GT Pro and Explorer models, increasing their cornering ground clearance. The recently unveiled Active Preload Reduction function, introduced in August 2023, provides riders with added assurance by automatically reducing the rear suspension preload as the Tiger 1200 decelerates, effectively lowering the seat height by up to 20mm with a single press of the ‘Home’ button on the switch cube for one second.

The Tiger 1200 lineup now offers four variants, each featuring new colours for the year 2024. For a road-focused adventure experience, the GT Pro and GT Explorer models come in the attention-grabbing Carnival Red, Snowdonia White, and Sapphire Black. Meanwhile, those seeking an all-terrain adventure can choose from the sleek new Matt Sandstorm or timeless Jet Black options for the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer models, along with the popular Matt Khaki choice.

According to Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent, “The enhancements planned for the 2024 Tiger 1200 range aim to improve its overall performance further and widen its reach internationally. Although the current generation has already significantly impacted this category, with worldwide sales of the Tiger 1200 more than doubling, our exceptional team of engineers continuously strives to enhance and refine every model.”
