In June, the aptly named, QUADRO4 – a four-wheeled scooter – will be hitting the UK streets for the first time.
ClementsMoto are to be the UK distributor for Swiss company, Quadro. Established in 2011, Quadro is a developer of three and four-wheel scooters which are said to combine the agility of two-wheels with the safety of four. The bikes are currently manufactured in Taiwan, utilising Italian components.
The four-wheeled scooter will be joining its three-wheeled brother in the range – the Quadro 350S. Both are powered by a 346cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, four-valve engine which produces 27bhp (19.8kW) @ 7000rpm and 21.2lb-ft (28.8Nm) @ 5500rpm.
Just like the three-wheeled variant, the QUADRO4 has the Hydraulic Tilt System (HTS). The clever system can adjust depending on road conditions making for a stable riding experience. The two front wheels tilt simultaneously and the HTS can be locked in place with a light action lever to the hold the same angle on any surface – it also comes in handy when moving the scooter within small parking spaces. It’s a system the manufacturer has been working on over a five year development program.
The QUADRO4 is fitted with 240mm disc brakes on the front and rear. There’s a dual seat, the underseat storage compartment has a 12-volt socket for electronic devices and can swallow up two helmets. There’s another 12-volt socket located in front of the front storage compartment for sat nav’s – a small compartment can house smaller objects including mobile phones and wallets.
The seat height is 770mm and the fuel tank holds 15 litres.
We’ve reviewed the three-wheeled 350s and can’t wait to get our hands on the QUADRO4…
