Four-wheel scooters on way to UK

ClementsMoto has announced that they are to be the UK distributor for Swiss company Quadro. Established in 2011, it’s a developer of three and four-wheel scooters which are said to combine the agility of two-wheels with the safety of four.  The bikes are currently manufactured in Taiwan, utilising Italian components.

The first model coming to the UK is the Quadro 350S – it’s powered by a 346cc single-cylinder four-stroke four-valve engine and features adjustable rear suspension, comfortable seating for rider and pillion, and three storage compartments. It produces 27bhp (19.8kW) @ 7000rpm and 21.2lb-ft (28.8Nm) @ 5500rpm.

The scooter is equipped with HTS (Hydraulic Tilting System) oleo-pneumatic tilting suspension at the front; an air-oil hydraulic shock absorber which is sometimes seen in the landing gear of large aircraft – with dual dampers on the rear which allow 100mm of wheel travel.

There are disc brakes on the front and rear, 14-inch tyres on the front and a 15-inch on the rear. There’s a seat height of 780mm, a dry weight of 200kg and fuel capacity is 13 litres.

April 2015 will see the launch of the Quadro 4 – a scooter which is bound to make an impression: it has four-wheels! It features the HTS suspension on the front and the rear, produces 29.6bhp (22.1Kw) @ 7500rpm and is belt driven. It boasts a 15 litre fuel tank, integral braking and a 45° tilting angle. We can’t wait to get our hands on one to try one out…

New brand on the block; Motorini

UK distributor, ClementsMoto, already boasts a portfolio of scooters, off-road motorcycles and exciting Quadro brand, and they’ve added another brand to their stable – Motorini.

Director, Dean Clements, said, “The aim of this is to bridge the gap in the type of models in our range. We want to be ahead of the game and ensure we have a range of machines that complies with the new EU regulations which are due in 2016/17.”

At the time of going to press with the magazine, the brand-new models were being airfreighted to the show so that visitors could take a closer look. We will bring you a full update in our next issue.
