This is the new BMW R1200R. Using the same 125hp engine as the R 1200 GS, RT and RS, it’s claimed the 92-lb-ft lump has a more uniform torque delivery throughout the rev range.
The engine is a self-supporting element of a new tubular-steel bridge frame, with upside-down forks and an EVO Paralever rear, and incorporates new air intake and central radiator for a compact front silhouette.
The bike features ABS and ASC (Automatic Stablility Control) as standard, with DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) as an optional extra. Clocks have an analogue speedo, with a Thin Film Technology (TFT) screen showing a wide array of information, including tyre pressures and oil level.
